Comments: Hi Xhefri, I found your URL in a german Fender community. I am very happy to see and read your Fender's history. I never saw a similar and kompetent cognizance of these guitars. It is a very good paper for Fender' guitar. Best regards Wolfgang

Comments: I have a 96 MIJ foto flame tele with 3 p/u's , curly maple finish in cherry burst. Serial # U006613. It has a black tele bridge p/u ans 2 white strat p/u's . Rosewood fret board and get this, a completely bound body with the fancy pick guard. I can not find another like it. It is 100% original. What do you think I have ?

Comments: Xhefri, You must be a walking guitar encyclopedia. I have seen your name multiple times on Fender's boards in search of information about my sweet enigma. She's got a hollow aluminum body with the Violet Metal Burst finish (I gleaned that from one of your Fender posts which pictured a similar guitar), but the fret board is ebony and it features Fender Lace-sensor pick-ups (gold and blue)with the (red) humbuckers. I purchased her new from Gruhn's guitars in Nashville in September 1995, Serial number N3156041. The case says Fender Plus. Unfortunately, I don't know what I did with the original paperwork. I bought it because it sounded angelic and I love purple. Thinking of selling her (not wholeheartedly, mind you) and wondering what this lovely guitar is worth. Very gently used. Thanks.

Comments: HI I just read your post and am blown away with your knowlege. I currently own a USA Strat VG and picked up a Strat Plus recently. With your website it looks like a early 90s but the serial # looks like a 99. Maybe you can help. serial # is N996611. It is Grey with Pearl Pickguard w/ the Wilkinson Nut and Lace Sensor Golds (flat top so the name wears off eventually) I was told in 92 the indented the name. On your website you show that this may be a 1990. I would apreciate your help.
Thanks JEFF

Comments: I got an eye opener of a Christmas present this year. I got a Red Wine Foto-Flame Tele. I saw it was an MIJ but being a strat lover for 40 years, I'd never heard of it. I'd been looking at MIM's and thought this was just another foreign knock off that I was going to quickly learn to hate. The more I played it, the more curious I got, this thing reminded me of the 65 Tele I remember playing back in 1970. I couldn't put it down! I got spun around with the serial number thing because this guitar looks like a 2 year old Nashville. I couldn't find my guitar anywhere in Fender's website. I searched "Foto Flame" and found your website. When I saw that the foto flames were discontinued in 98 it was a "holy * * *" moment. This guitar must have lived most of it's life in the case. Regardless Xhefri, thank you for your insight and passion. I instantly went from feeling like this Tele is something I "settled" for to being excited that I own one!
