Comments: HI I just read your post and am blown away with your knowlege. I currently own a USA Strat VG and picked up a Strat Plus recently. With your website it looks like a early 90s but the serial # looks like a 99. Maybe you can help. serial # is N996611. It is Grey with Pearl Pickguard w/ the Wilkinson Nut and Lace Sensor Golds (flat top so the name wears off eventually) I was told in 92 the indented the name. On your website you show that this may be a 1990. I would apreciate your help.
Thanks JEFF

Comments: I got an eye opener of a Christmas present this year. I got a Red Wine Foto-Flame Tele. I saw it was an MIJ but being a strat lover for 40 years, I'd never heard of it. I'd been looking at MIM's and thought this was just another foreign knock off that I was going to quickly learn to hate. The more I played it, the more curious I got, this thing reminded me of the 65 Tele I remember playing back in 1970. I couldn't put it down! I got spun around with the serial number thing because this guitar looks like a 2 year old Nashville. I couldn't find my guitar anywhere in Fender's website. I searched "Foto Flame" and found your website. When I saw that the foto flames were discontinued in 98 it was a "holy * * *" moment. This guitar must have lived most of it's life in the case. Regardless Xhefri, thank you for your insight and passion. I instantly went from feeling like this Tele is something I "settled" for to being excited that I own one!

Comments: Hi, I just wanted to thank you. I recently had the opportunity to pick up a 1995 Strat Plus that needs a lot of love, and your site has provided me all the info I need to restore her to original, play-ready condition.
You've given me a TON of useful information in a readily digestible form. Thanks again!
I have been looking for af '92 Custom Shop Strat Plus, gold' for a long time. When I finaly found it, I was incredible poor and could not afford this, my favorite guitar of all time. Now I'm working my way back in business, so please if you find this master piece of a guitar, kindly let me know.
Best regards
Svend Denmark

Comments: Great site. Always wondered though, are the middle pickups on strat plus / ultra range reverse wound? I thought they would be to get the correct out of phase sounds in positions 2 & 4 ?

Comments: Thank you so much for these infos ! I've been owning a DX plus strat for 10+ years, bought 2nd hand with few knowledge of the beast (but sounded right to me). I now know thanks to your research that it's a USA 88 or 89. I've switched the blue Lace Sensor pickup to the neck position (as per newer DX), and added a double seymour duncan at the bridge position (let's rock !). I wonder if the blue Lace Sensor pickup formerly at the bridge position is the same hardware as the neck blue picker of the newer ones. An idea ? Cheers, Nicolas
