Xhefri,
Many Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge.
I noticed your example photo of a 1995 Strat Plus with Shaller tuners serial # N517021. I looked at mine on the back of the head stock. It is serial# N517092.

Admin reply: Wow, pretty close to the same serial numbers! One would think they must have been pretty close to the same date of manufacture...

Hey Xhefri, good to see your adding to this site- I love it. I have been in love with strat plus/ultra for a very long time, and until recently have had the chance to own two of my dream guitars. One thing I am curious about, is my 93 Strat Plus in Carribean Mist- this is a colour I do remember from the catalogues of the day- Mine is dead mint with all candy with it, I am very lucky to own such a beauty..yet I have only seen two in the flesh of the same colour. A 40th Annv Am Std with matching headstock, and the other being mine. Was this a popular colour of the day or was it just a flop? Whatever it is i love the colour and it gets people commenting..

I do hope that you continue this site, as it has actually re-ignited my passion for them too

Keep up the good work, good to see you frequent the forums, and good to chat through them too. Hope you enjoyed your holiday in the islands :)

Your kiwi buddy,
Blair.

Thanks for your site. I always wondered why my Strat was so different from almost every other Strat I've seen. I got it in the early 90s from Richardson Music in Lawrence, KS. I bought a SRV Strat there but couldn't handle the hum. The store owner traded me what I learned from your site is a Strat Plus, probably from 87 - 88. It has the "inferior" (I agree)Wilkinson bridge where the top 3 strings float. It has the Schaller locking tuners. The serial number is on the string side of the head stock, E 4XXXXX.

This note is already too long, so I'll quit. Thanks again for teaching me so much about this guitar!

I Started to add Gold Lace Sensors and a Clapton Mid Boost to my 2009 American Standard. I was looking all over the net for tips on installing the Mid Boost, and I found your great site. Now when ever I need inspiration I go to your site and see(drool over)all those beautiful Strat plus's and the rest. Thanks for being there, it's beautiful work.

just wondering...where does your info come from? One thing I noticed right off the bat was...MIJ/CIJ reissues...in all the years I`ve been in Japan and all the books I own and all the Japanese web sites I`ve been to...I never once heard nor saw a japanese Fender called a reissue...I thought those were MIAs.
Plus...Japanese Fenders come in many different price ranges, to lump them all together is simply impossible...the low end stuff is priced that way for a reason, I understand you are in the business of selling guitars but some of your info is false and misleading on your site. Have you ever seen the Foto Flames with cracked or peeling film?...I have...it was not one of Fender Japan`s better ideas.

Admin reply: Hi, Sorry you could not be more wrong! Seems like you have a bone to pick without taking the time to read too much. 1st, I am not in the business to sell guitars, if you read the front page you will see that.

2nd, if you know anything about MIJ/CIJ history Fender helped Fender Japan start two production types, Reissues and the Squire series. Your books will tell you the history if you have them.

Like I show on my pages, Fender japan had a host of reissues. So i am wondering why, if you have checked some of the Fender resellers in Japan, that you do not know that? It is common knowledge! besides, I have talked with people like Steve Cropper who told me he was instrumental in help Fender to convince Fender japan to do Reissues as well as talking to one friend who was a Fender rep who work for Fender when this whole deal came down with the Fugi Gen Gakki company.

Did Foto Flames crack and peel? Yes, as I indicate on this site. If they are exposed to temp changes it could happen. Anyhow, take some time to read. I do not consider myself an expert, but I have done a lot of research!
